So, you are interested in a session! Now what?
The next step is generally to book a date and time. Most people seem a little shocked when I start mentioning 6 pm, 7 pm, etc. A sunset session…around dinnertime…..edging near bedtime??? Most want to know can’t we do it at 11 am or 3 pm?
Well, yes we could…..but our ability to move around wherever we may be will be VERY limited. I have written a blog post and posted a you tube video on the pitfalls of daytime shoots. Check it out here!
When we meet closer to sunset we can have gorgeous back-lit images and photographers call this time of day “The Golden Hour.” There is even an app for that. 🙂
Most children, even if it’s disruptive to their nighttime routine, will love getting outside on a summer evening to wander around and play. And after all, that is all we need them to do! Let them have fun and I’ll snap away and make sure you have some images that will delight you and your family for years to come!
Need proof? Here are a few examples I took at approximately 7 pm. We were outside for about 5-10 minutes and I took 40 images. Look at how the light from the setting sun behind the trees just twinkles? DROOL! I am in love with these 4 great shots! I hope you enjoy them too.
And, just as an FYI….this same scenario applies to the rising sun. So early morning sessions are also an option. As long as I have had some coffee of course. 🙂
Golden Hour is the BEST time for gorgeous outdoor images!! The light is so pretty and you’re right, the golden twinkles are lovely! I think any family would be super lucky to have an outdoor evening session with you, Bonnie!
